Apna Banda is a hyperlocal service that helps people discover and contact local businesses and lets businesses respond to local requirements. This policy applies to the Apna Banda Android app and website operated by Apna Banda in India.
Information we collect
- Location: location coordinates and locality when you allow device location access, or the locality you select manually. Location access is optional and supports nearby results.
- Contact and business information: names, phone or WhatsApp numbers, business name, category, address, opening hours, description and other listing information you submit.
- User content: service requirements, responses, reviews, reports and feedback you choose to submit.
- App activity: searches, listing views, call/WhatsApp/directions button interactions, connections, notification preferences and operational error information.
- Local identifiers: random identifiers stored on your device to associate your requirements, connections and preferences without requiring a user login.
How we use information
We use information to show relevant nearby businesses, publish and match requirements, enable direct contact, manage listings and reviews, prevent abuse, provide support, measure service performance, improve reliability, and generate requested AI-assisted search or description suggestions.
Public information
Business listing details—including business name, category, locality, business contact options, description, ratings and opening information—may be visible to users. Requirements and reviews may also be displayed, but the service is designed to avoid publicly displaying a customer's exact home address or private phone number unless the customer chooses to contact a business directly.
Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We use service providers to operate the service, including Supabase for database hosting, Render for application hosting, and Google services for optional AI-assisted features and maps/directions. These providers may process information only as needed to deliver their services. When you choose Call, WhatsApp or Directions, your device opens the relevant phone, WhatsApp or maps service and that provider's privacy terms apply.
Data storage and retention
Information may be stored on your device and on secured cloud systems. We retain submitted information while it is needed to operate the service, maintain legitimate business records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. When a valid deletion request is completed, associated personal data is deleted or anonymised unless limited retention is legally required. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups before routine deletion.
Security
We use HTTPS in transit, access controls and restricted server credentials. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your choices and rights
You may deny location permission and select a locality manually. You may also request access, correction or deletion of information you submitted. See our Data Deletion Instructions.
Children
Apna Banda is a general local-services app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian may contact us if they believe a child submitted personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
